7 DRUG INTERACTIONS CYP3A4 inducers may decrease imatinib mesylate C max and area under curve (AUC). ( 2.12 , 7.1 , 12.3 ) CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase imatinib mesylate C max and AUC. 17 PATIENT COUNSELING INFORMATION Dosing and Administration Advise patients to take imatinib mesylate tablets exactly as prescribed, not to change their dose or to stop taking imatinib mesylate tablets unless they are told to do so by their doctor. If the patient missed a dose of imatinib mesylate tablets, the patient should take the next scheduled dose at its regular time. The patient should not take two doses at the same time.
